A military commander in the Yuan dynasty of China. Son of Uryang Hatai. It is inappropriate to have read his name as Aju in the past. Following his father, he joined Kublai Khan's expedition to Yunnan, and then joined the Keshik (Imperial Guard). In 1262 (the 3rd year of the Zhongtong era), he became the frontline commander in the Henan area, and in 1273 (the 10th year of the Yuan era) he captured Xiangyang. The following year, when the conquest of the Southern Song began with Bayan (Boyan) as its commander-in-chief, he led his Mongolian troops in battles all over the country, and became a key military figure in the subjugation of the Southern Song dynasty. 中国元代の武将。ウリャンハタイの子。従来アジュと読んだのは適当でない。父に従ってフビライ･ハーンの雲南遠征に加わり，ついでケシク(禁衛)に入った。1262年(中統3)より河南方面の前線司令官となり，73年(至元10)襄陽を攻略した。翌年バヤン(伯顔)を総大将に南宋征服が始まると，麾下（きか）のモンゴル人軍団を率いて各地を転戦し，南宋平定の軍事上の立役者となった。【杉山正明】
