Illyrians - Illyrians

Japanese:
Illyrians - Illyrians
In English, Illyrian. The Illyrians are the indigenous people of the western Balkan Peninsula, and several groups of the same tribe, who spoke ancient Indo-European languages, are called Illyrians. They are believed to have invaded the lands of the Germanic tribes, Greece, and Asia Minor in prehistoric times, and there is a theory that the destruction that occurred from Asia Minor to the Greek world around 1200 BC is the result of this great migration. In the 3rd century BC, they ruled from northern Albania to the Adriatic coast, but in 168 BC, they came under Roman rule. They are thought to have assimilated with the Romans, and then with the South Slavs from the 6th century onwards, and their name remains in place names on the western coast of the Adriatic Sea in northern Albania. They did not have a written language, and no documents remain, but in the past, inscriptions in Messapian language from southern Italy were considered to be of the same lineage, and it was assumed that they were part of a single language group called Illyrian. They were also said to be the ancestors of the Albanian language. However, in recent years, Messapian materials have also tended to become independent, and the very concept of Illyrian is being forced to be reconsidered. Later, the Illyrians were considered to be the ancestors of the South Slavs, and so the Croatian ethnic revival movement of the mid-19th century was called the "Illyrian Movement."
