Ice dancing

From " ice dancing ": A type of figure skating competition. Two people, a man and a woman, form a pair. There are three events: pattern dance (PD), short dance (SD), and free dance (FD). In major international competitions, the short dance and free dance are performed, and the ranking is determined by the total score. Particular emphasis is placed on the expression of dance rhythm, the way the skaters are formed, their steps, and their posture while skating, and it is also called "ballroom dancing on ice."
[Additional information] Pair skating, also performed by a male-female pair, includes many dynamic and acrobatic elements and is a different sport in nature.
