A gifted young woman who was well acquainted with Winckelmann, Goethe, Herder, Joseph II, and Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria. From an early age, she traveled around the country with her father, the painter Johann Joseph Kaufmann. From 1766, she lived in London for 15 years. She was one of the founders of the Royal Academy there. She is known for creating decorative murals for R. Adam's buildings. She has lived in Rome since 1782. Her distinctive style combines the delicateness of the Rococo style with the neoclassical style. She also painted portraits of Goethe, Winckelmann, and others.
