Vetala (English spelling)

...A representative collection of Indian tales that includes about 25 stories (the number of stories varies slightly depending on the version) with the adventures of King Trivikrama as the framework. The original title is Vetāla Panchavinshatika. Vetāla (宍鬼) is a demon that possesses human corpses and activates them. It is often mentioned in Buddhist scriptures, but in Shaivism it is considered one of the associates of Shiva.
