…It is not just a place for books and rooms, but also includes the educational activities of children and teachers, the activities of school librarians and school librarians who enhance these activities, and the management and operation of the library, as well as the collection and organization of books. The School Library Law (abbreviated as Gakushuho, promulgated in 1953) defines school libraries as indispensable basic facilities for school education, and aims to enrich school education, that is, to contribute to the development of the educational curriculum and to foster a healthy education for children and students.
