Vazrazhdane

Japanese: vazrazhdane
Vazrazhdane

…a cultural movement widespread among the peoples of Eastern Europe from the late 18th century to the 1970s. The revival movement was called obrození (Czech), obrodenie (Slovak), preporod (Croatian), vazrazhdane (Bulgarian), renaştere (Romanian), and other terms, but similar phenomena existed among peoples for whom these terms were not commonly used. The revival movement began in the cultural sphere and later gained a political character, but it was deeply connected to the national movements of the peoples of Eastern Europe under the rule of the Ottoman Empire, Austria, Prussia, or Russia, and it also shows the basic characteristics of the national movements in Eastern Europe.
