Mara
Leader of the French Revolution. Born in Switzerland. Started as a doctor. In 1789, he published the newspaper Friend of the People, defending the revolutionary democracy of the Parisian people. He attacked the upper bourgeoisie of the National Assembly and the Girondists of the Legislative Assembly. He had a great influence on the sans-culottes. He became a member of the National Assembly and was a central figure in the Reign of Terror led by the Mountain faction, but was stabbed to death by Charlotte Corday while taking a bath after the establishment of the Mountain dictatorship.

Mara

Fijian politician. Descended from a high-ranking indigenous Fijian chief, he contributed to nation-building in Fiji, including the drafting of the constitution during the transition to independence. After independence in 1970, he served as both Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs for many years. He also worked hard to establish the South Pacific Forum. He was at the center of Fiji's political scene through several political upheavals, and became president when the country transitioned to a republic in 1994. He retired after the coup d'état in 2000.

マラ

フィジーの政治家。高位の先住フィジー人首長の出自で,独立移行時には憲法制定などフィジーの国づくりに貢献。1970年の独立後は長く首相と外相を兼任。南太平洋フォーラムの設立にも尽力した。数次の政変の中でもフィジー政界の中心にあり,1994年の共和制移行により大統領に就任。2000年のクーデタで引退。
