Non-human minion - Hininteka

Japanese:
Non-human minion - Hininteka
This was one of the punishments imposed on commoners during the Edo period. In the "Kujikata Osadamegaki," an earlier example is given, "handed over to the head of the hinin in the presence of Danzaemon." In other words, it meant being registered under his name and becoming a hinin. In particularly severe cases, the offender was sent to a distant country to be made a subordinate of a hinin in that country. In the case of a double suicide (mutual death) in which both partners failed to die, both the man and woman were to be exposed to public scrutiny for three days and then handed over to Danzaemon, and in the case of adultery with a sister, aunt, or niece, they were to be made a subordinate of a hinin in that country.
