Typhoid fever

…Typhoid fever in the broad sense includes three types: typhoid fever, paratyphoid fever, and exanthematic typhus (epidemic typhus). In Japan, when people simply say typhoid, they are usually referring to typhoid fever (however, in English-speaking countries, when people simply say typhoid, they are usually referring to exanthematic typhus). The first two are bacterial infections, while exanthematic typhus is a rickettsial infection, and the symptoms of the two are different.
