Turnèbe, A.

…French classical scholar. His real name is unknown, so in France he uses the French form of his Latin name, Adrien Turnèbe. After studying in Paris, he became a member of the royal faculty in 1547, succeeding J. Toussaint, and in 1551 also superintendent of the royal press.
