Tswett, MS (English spelling) TswettMS

…the general term for a group of pigments that are yellow, orange, or red and are widely distributed throughout the animal and plant kingdoms. The name was coined by M.S.Twett after the representative of this group of pigments, carotene. He named those pigments that were soluble in hydrocarbon solvents as carotenes, and those that were poorly soluble in hydrocarbon solvents but easily soluble in methanol as xanthophylls.
