...Many young men and women participated in the Teatr rabochei molodyozhi (official title: Teatr rabochei molodyozhi). In the mid-1920s, the former imperial theaters, Teatr imeni Pushkina in Leningrad and Malyi Teatr in Moscow, were regaining their strength, and the Moscow Art Theatre returned from its overseas tour of 1922-24, and the entire theatrical world began to flourish. One reason for this was that plays were being written that depicted the turbulent times not in a schematic way but through human eyes.
