Samodi

...the general term for an ethnic group that is widely distributed in the Russian Federation, from Western Siberia to the northern part of the former Russian Republic, and speaks languages ​​of the Samoyedic branch of the Uralic language family. Population: 34,000 (1979). Linguistically and culturally, they are divided into the northern group (Nenets, Enets, Ganasan) and the southern group (Serikhop). The southern group can also include the Kamas, Karagas, Koybar, Motl, Soyot, and Taigi (collectively called Sayan Samoyedic), who have lost their speakers and become extinct.
