Mesembryanthema

...A group of succulents in the family Vulaceae, mainly distributed in South Africa, is collectively called Mesembryanthema, or Mesembryanthemum, for ornamental horticulture. Linnaeus once treated them as a single genus, Mesembryanthemum , but in the 20th century, Bolus L. of the University of Cape Town and Brown NE Brown of the Botanical Gardens, Kew, and others subdivided them into as many as 120 genera.
