A synonym for mine sweeping is mine hunting. Mine hunting is a type of mine disposal method for hydraulic mines that are difficult to sweep with current minesweeping equipment, mines equipped with anti-minesweeping devices, or dangerous mines such as ascending mines. It is characterized by being carried out in front of the minesweeping vessel to protect its safety (Figure c).
