A town in Minamiaizu County in southern Fukushima Prefecture. The Aizu Railway runs through the town's main settlement along the Okawa River upstream of the Agano River (Agano River), and it was once a market town. Rice and tobacco are cultivated here. Flowers such as gentians are also produced here.
