The effectiveness of disinfectants for wounds is sometimes determined by their ability to inhibit the growth of the causative bacteria, and is often displayed as the minimum inhibitory concentration (abbreviated as MIC). On the other hand, there is a diffusion test to know the diffusibility of a disinfectant.
