…During the German occupation, Musselt was appointed leader of the Dutch people. In Britain, the British Union of Fascists was founded in October 1932 by Oswald Ernald Mosley (1896-1980). It advocated anti-Marxism and anti-Semitism, and launched flashy street propaganda by the Fascist Guard, wearing black uniforms, which succeeded in attracting a great deal of attention by 1934. In France, in the 1930s, the Frenchist Party led by Pucard, which advocated the principle of leadership, wore uniforms, and marched with flags, and the National People's Union led by Derr, which advocated cooperation with Nazi Germany, were active.

...The Great Depression of the 1930s played a role in spreading this movement further around the world. Besides Germany and Italy, the third most powerful fascist movement was the Iron Guard in Romania, the Arrow Cross in Hungary, the British Union of Fascists led by Oswald Ernald Mosley (1896-1980), the French People's Party led by Doriot in France, and the Falange in Spain. In Japan, fascist ideology and certain movements based on it existed, but no unified development as a mass movement from below was seen.
