Buda

…the capital of Hungary. Its correct name is Budapest. It has an area of ​​about 525 km2 and a population of 1.91 million (1996, about 19% of the national population). It is roughly divided into the Buda district on the right bank of the Danube and the Pest district on the left bank, but administratively it is made up of 22 districts (6 in Buda, 15 in Pest, and 1 on Csepel Island). It is home to the parliament, as well as the central government and party institutions.

It is located almost in the center of the Hungarian Basin, almost in the middle of the Danube River, across the Danube. The Buda region on the right bank of the Danube is made up of hills, while the Pest region on the left bank is made up of plains.
