...This method brought about an innovative understanding after functionalism in the fields of kinship, classification, mythology, etc. His major works include "The Fundamental Structures of Kinship" (1949), which sees the reciprocal code of exchanging women in the marriage system, "The Savage Mind" and "Totemism Today" (both 1962), which clarified the logical structure of "primitive classification" and relativized the epistemology of European anthropology, and the four-volume masterpiece "Mythology" (1964-71), which includes the theory on "The Culinary Triangle" and "Ritual and Mythology." His other works include "Structural Anthropology" (2 volumes, 1958, 1973), which could be considered a collection of methodologies, and "Tristes tropiques" (1955), an early introspective ethnography that gained a wide readership.
