It is part of the Saar-Nahe mountain range, lying between the Rhine Slate Mountains and the Lorraine terraces, and has a diverse topography. Its central region is the hilly area between the Prims and Blies rivers, with the northwestern part of the line Neunkirchen-Sankt Ingbert-Saarbrücken consisting of coal seams, the southeastern part consisting of variegated sandstone, and the highest part, the line that curves north from Völklingen to Neunkirchen, consisting of forested areas. …
