However, during the reign of Kaykhusrau II (reigned 1237-45), who succeeded Kayqubad, the dynasty was invaded by the Mongol army and was defeated in the Battle of Köse-Dag in 1243. Thereafter, the dynasty was subordinate to the Mongol Empire, and disappeared from history in the early 14th century without ever regaining its national power. During this dynasty, the Turkification and Islamization of Anatolia progressed, and many mosques and madrasas were built in the capital, Konya. ...
