Nephroptosis

…The kidneys normally move up and down a few centimeters with breathing, but when they move beyond this range, this condition is called nephroptosis, which is used almost synonymously with this disease. The kidneys are fixed in the retroperitoneal space in the lumbar region by the renal artery, renal vein, and fatty tissue around the kidney.
