〘Noun〙 A type of rakugo storytelling that incorporates shamisen and other musical instruments from the dressing room to enhance the story. 〘名〙 話の効果として楽屋の三味線、鳴物をとり入れて演ずる落語。江戸時代、文化年間(一八〇四‐一八)、初代船遊亭扇橋が始めたといわれている。※落語・猫の忠信(1897)〈六代目桂文治〉「音曲話(オンギョクバナシ)とても其(その)通り話の内に自然と音曲を遣(や)らんければならぬ様になりまするのが是れが音曲話で」
