...The leaves of Quercus salicina are also used in the same way. Quercus phillyraeoides A. Gray (illustration) and Quercus glabra (Thunb.) Oersted are both evergreen trees of the same Fagaceae family, but are slightly different in their lineage. Quercus gracilis (Neolitsea aciculata (Bl.) Koidz.) are also called oaks, but are trees of the Lauraceae family, and were given this name because their wood is inferior.
