A Dutch national airline based in Amsterdam. The government owns 38% of the company, but is reducing its stake and aiming for full privatization. KLM is the abbreviated name. Its airline code is KL. It is the oldest airline in Europe. It operates only international routes and is one of the top five airlines in the world. It operates routes to major cities in Europe, North America, Central America, Africa, the Middle East, Oceania, and Southeast Asia, with its bases in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. It has been flying to Japan since 1951.
