Philetairos

…a Hellenistic kingdom that was centered on the city of Pergamon (now Bergama, Turkey) in northwestern Asia Minor and extended to Mysia, Lydia, Phrygia, and Pisidia at its height. In 282 BC, the Macedonian Philetairos became ruler of the city under the Seleucid Empire, and in 278-276 BC, he repelled the invasion of the Galatians, establishing the foundations of the Attalid dynasty. In 262 BC, Eumenes I broke away from the Seleucid Empire and became independent.
