...The Hmong nation, which is thought to have been the first in history to adopt Buddhist culture in what is now Thailand, was destroyed around the 9th century. The Phra Pathom Chedi, which stands in the center of the city, is 127 meters high and is the largest in Thailand. It is said that the original form of this pagoda was built around 500 and was remodeled during the Hmong era.
