...The movement, which had been in a slump due to the economic recession and unemployment problems during the interwar period, and the passive attitude of the Labour Party, which had taken control of constituencies in place of the Liberal Party, was revived by the prosperity after the Second World War and the growing resentment against the progress of centralization. In 1966, a Minister for Wales and a Welsh Agency were established, and in 1967, the Welsh Language Act resulted in England not including Wales for the first time in two centuries. The Welsh National Party, Plaid Cymru, which was formed in 1925, also grew in power from the late 1960s onwards, and in 1979, a bill to expand Welsh autonomy was put to a referendum. However, as can be seen from the fact that only 11% of the voters approved the bill, the color of political nationalism was weaker than in Scotland, and the influence of the Welsh National Party continued to stagnate. ...
