Polyphemos

Japanese: Polyphēmos(英語表記)Polyphemos
Polyphemos

In Greek mythology, she was a sea nymph and one of the daughters of the sea god Nereus. She was courted by the one-eyed giant Polyphemos, but she had a lover named Akis. When Polyphemos discovered their tryst, he became enraged and threw a rock at Akis, killing her and turning her into a river.

From [Cyclops]

According to Homer's Odyssey, they were one-eyed giants who knew neither law nor farming, and lived by raising sheep. When Odysseus and his men arrived on the island where they lived (Sicily?), they got lost in the cave of a Cyclops named Polyphemos, and his men were eaten one by one. Odysseus's plan to kill the giant's eyes and escaped is famous. On the other hand, according to Hesiod's Theogony, they were the three sons of the sky god Uranus and the earth goddess Gaia, Brontēs (Thunder), Steropēs (Lightning), and Arges (Flash), and were imprisoned underground by their father, but were later released by Zeus, and sided with the Zeus brothers who fought against Cronus's group, contributing to their victory.
