"Kawanakajima War Chronicles"

...One of the highlights is the exploits of Yamamoto Kansuke, Shingen's military strategist. It was adapted into a story called "Kawanakajima Gunki" and was popular among the common people of Edo. As a puppet theater, the representative early work is "Shinshu Kawanakajima Kassen" written by Chikamatsu Monzaemon and performed at the Osaka Takemotoza in August 1721 (6th year of the Kyoho era).
