Liliopsida

…It is one of the two major divisions of angiosperms, along with dicotyledons. In terms of the taxonomic rank, it is usually considered a class, and is sometimes called the Liliopsida class. It differs from dicotyledons in that it has a single cotyledon that grows apically on the hypocotyl and that the shoots grow laterally.
