He also engaged in a wide range of diplomatic activities, such as marrying his daughter Prabhāvatī to Rudrasena II of the Vakataka dynasty in the Deccan region, bringing the latter's forces under his control. He also patronized the arts, including literature, painting, architecture, and sculpture, ushering in the heyday of Gupta culture.
