Punk rock

...The Clash, The Jam, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Stranglers, and others followed suit. This kind of music was called punk rock, and its supporters, young people who were dissatisfied with the status quo, were called punks. However, their activities, which seemed to be united in their desire to break through the stagnant situation, did not last long, and by 1978 their activities had changed in various ways, and people were already talking about what came after punk, and the comprehensive term new wave, which took into account the subsequent diversification, became common.
