...A new method was also developed in which the ore pulp was vigorously stirred to separate and collect the coatings of the mineral particles that floated to the water surface. This is called skin flotation. A new method of generating bubbles was also devised, which involved reacting carbonate minerals in the ore with acid to use the carbon dioxide bubbles that were generated.
