Obakobushi - Obakobushi
A representative folk song of both Yamagata and Akita prefectures. It is said to have originated in the Shonai region. Songs from the Senboku region of Akita prefecture were recorded as "Akita Obako" during the Taisho era and became known nationwide. "Yamagata Obako" is simple and the melody varies depending on the region. "Obako" means young girl.
