Romer (English spelling)

…In 1489, the city was involved in the Knights' War and suffered a major defeat at Kronberg. To strengthen its defenses, the city built a fortification called the Landwehr three kilometers outside the city walls. In 1405, the city hall Römer, with its stately Gothic gabled roof, was built as a result of the remodeling of the city's residential buildings.
