Ronchamp

Japanese: Ronchamp
Ronchamp

During the war, he continued his research into measuring scales and developed his own Modulor, which gave him the possibility of more free plans and designs. After the war, the Unité housing complex in Marseilles (1946-52), which was realized as a huge residential unit for the city, and the church in Ronchamp (1951-54), which showed a freer and more sculptural form than anything that had come before, astonished people with their leaps and transformations, but the Modulor was always at the base of the work. He also realized his dream of urban planning for the first time in Chandigarh, the new capital of the Punjab state in India (1955).
