...Located in Tibet, it has an elevation of 8,013m (8,046m according to the Survey of India). The name of the mountain means "mountain of severe weather" in Tibetan, but in Nepal and India it has been known as Gosainthan (meaning "abode of saints"). It was unexplored for a long time, and is the last unclimbed 8,000m peak. In 1964, a Chinese expedition (led by Xu Jing) succeeded in the first ascent.
