Japanese: SA - えすえー

Abbreviation for Security Association. Refers to the exchange of information required for encryption and authentication in IPsec, and the route for that exchange. It includes the connection destination, encryption and message authentication algorithms, keys, and key validity periods. When an SA is established, a 32-bit value called SPI (Security Parameters Index) is generated and included in the packet information. Therefore, even if multiple SAs are performing different sessions, communication is only established between the parties involved by comparing the SPI stored in the packet.

Security Associationの略。IPsecにおいて暗号化や認証を行なうために必要な情報の交換と、その経路を意味する。接続先、暗号化とメッセージ認証のアルゴリズム、キーやキーの有効期間などが含まれる。SAの確定が行なわれると、SPI（Security Parameters Index）と呼ばれる32ビットの値が生成され、パケットの情報に含まれる。そのため、複数のSAが異なるセッションを行なっても、パケットに格納されたSPIを照合することで当事者間でしか通信が成立しないようになっている。
