…Religious activist during the late Ottoman Empire and the Turkish Republic. Also known as Said-i Nursi or Said-i Kurdi. Author of the Book of Light (Nur) and other works, he aimed to establish an Islamic state based on the Quran and Sharia (known as the Nurci Movement).
