A Kyogen musical accompaniment. It is performed in scenes where demons from hell lie in wait for the dead at the crossroads of the six paths, blaming them in an attempt to drive them down to hell. The flute plays the main role, with the addition of large, small and taiko drums. The demons are performed with bamboo staffs, and begin with lines such as "What sinners you are, hurry up," and midway through, "Hurry, hurry up." It is used in demon Kyogen plays such as "Yao," "Asahina" and "Bakuro," but is also performed in plays such as "The Melon Thief" and "The Kuzizainin" as rehearsals for festival entertainment. 狂言の囃子事。地獄の鬼が亡者を六道の辻で待ちかまえ，地獄へ追い落とそうと責めたてる場面で演じる。笛が主奏し，大鼓，小鼓，太鼓が加わり，鬼の役は竹杖を持って演じ，はじめに〈いかに罪人，急げとこそ〉，途中に〈急げ急げ〉などのせりふが入る。《八尾（やお）》《朝比奈》《馬口労（ばくろう）》などの鬼狂言で用いるが，《瓜盗人》《鬮罪人（くじざいにん）》などでも祭りの余興の稽古（けいこ）という設定で演じられる。【羽田昶】
