Scottish Lowlands

…the lowlands in central Scotland, United Kingdom. It is also called the Scottish Lowlands, as opposed to the Highlands in northern Scotland. In a broader sense, it can refer to the whole of central and southern Scotland southeast of a line connecting Dumbarton at the mouth of the Clyde River and Stonehaven on the North Sea coast, but it is generally used only for the Rift Valley, excluding the southern highlands south of Dunbar and Girvan.
