secondhand bookshop

Japanese: secondhand bookshop(英語表記)secondhandbookshop
secondhand bookshop

...the general term for businesses that buy and sell used books. Also called secondhand bookstores, secondhand bookshops (booksellers) are known in English as secondhand books, and stores that specialize in classics and rare books are called antiquarian bookshops (booksellers). Generally, they are known as stores that sell well-read books at low prices, but secondhand bookstores that handle national treasure-class manuscripts and old editions have a wealth of bibliographical knowledge backed by experience, and often function as behind-the-scenes providers of information for authors and researchers. For example, the catalogs published by the British antiquarian bookstore Bernard Quaritch contain information that points out errors in existing bibliographies, and are attracting the attention of bibliographic researchers.
