…Local autonomy is the autonomy of a local community, and like individual and group autonomy, it is a combination of autonomy and self-governance. In other words, when a local community has a certain degree of autonomy in relation to the sovereignty of the nation-state that encompasses it, the local community is said to have collective autonomy.
