Shindia

Japanese: Shindia
Shindia

...It was a prosperous Hindu city since ancient times, but after it was conquered in 1232 by Sultan Shamsuddin Iltūtmish, who established his base of control over North India in Delhi, it became a Muslim-controlled area. In 1751, it was captured by the Maratha forces, and in 1771 it became the Gwalior princely state under the Shindia family, but in 1804 it came under the control of the East India Company. The reason for the constant conflicts since ancient times is that the town occupies a strategically important location, a gateway connecting the Indian plains with the Deccan Plateau.
