Japanese: オーストラロイド大人種 - オーストラロイドだいじんしゅ（英語表記）Australoid

One of the four great races. They have interesting similarities to the Caucasoid great race, such as wavy hair, hirsuteness, deep facial features, and occasional blonde hair. However, they have primitive features such as dark brown skin, long head, small brain capacity, developed brow arch, broad nose with a concave nose bridge, and swollen lips. Aborigines and the Bedda of Ceylon belong to this great race. At the end of the Ice Age, there were people with similar skull features not only in Oceania but also in northern and southern Africa, and these people are also called Australoids.

四大人種の一つ。波状毛，多毛，顔の彫りの深さのほか，時たまブロンドの現れることなどコーカソイド大人種との興味深い類似性がある。しかし皮膚の色は濃褐色で，長頭で脳容量が小さく，眉上弓が発達し，広鼻で鼻根部がくぼみ，唇が膨れている点など，原始的な特徴をもつ。アボリジニーとセイロンのベッダがこの大人種に属する。氷河時代末期にはオセアニアだけでなく，アフリカの北部や南部にも類似の頭骨特徴をもつ人々がいたようで，これらもオーストラロイドと呼ばれる。
