...In particular, WC-Mo-Ni alloys are used when non-magnetic properties are required, _Cr3C2 _- Ni alloys when corrosion resistance is required, and TaC-Ni alloys for golden tones (decorative items). Cemented carbide was invented in 1923 by K. Shröter and others in Germany, and began to be sold in 1925 by Krupp under the name Widia (named after Wie Diamant). Production began in Japan in 1931.
