Otogi-zoshi. Original story. When King Zenzai, the prince of King Tosho in Tosho, India, was 13 years old, he fell in love with his wife when she was painted on a precious fan. He flew to Saisho and made a promise to Princess Ashihiki, the daughter of King Tenhi, and returned with her after three years and three months. King Tosho's wives tried to curse and kill the prince, but sent him to Oniman to gather medicinal herbs under the pretext of curing his decrepitude. While they were away, they had the prince killed. On March 15, a young prince was born from the body. The young prince was raised by the breast of his headless mother, protected by the tiger, wolf, and wild wolf.

御伽草子。本地物。天竺東城（とうしよう）国東善王の王子，善哉王は13歳のとき，宝物の扇にかかれた女房を見て恋い焦がれ，西城（さいしよう）国へ飛び，天日王の姫足引の宮と契り，3年3ヵ月の後に伴い帰る。東善王の后たちは宮を呪い殺そうと，衰相を癒すためとの口実を設け，薬草を採らせに王子を鬼満国へやり，留守中に宮を殺害させるが，3月15日死体から若君が誕生する。若君は首なき母の乳房を含み，虎狼野干に守られて育つ。
